About New Swift 2018
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of India’s most popular hatchback ever since it was launched in 2005. The new avatar of the Swift was revealed in 2011 and was recently face-lifted in 2014. The all-new Swift was first launched in Japan in January 2017 and has been finally launched at the Auto Expo 2018. The new Swift looks like an evolution of the older car but is actually all new underneath. With the new model, the Swift is going back to its sportier roots and set itself apart from the more commuter-centric competition.
Overview Of Maruti Suzuki Swift 2k18
Maruti has launched the 3rd Generation Swift in India at the Auto Expo 2018. The new Swift is priced from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 8.29 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
The upmarket design, roomy interiors, premium features, and powerful yet fuel-efficient engines in the upcoming Swift 2018 are expected to make it darling among the masses, just like its predecessor.
In terms of design, new Swift features a curvier and edgy radiator grill and sharp headlamps featuring projector elements along with integrated daytime running lamps (DRLs). The air dam housing has now been stretched across the width of the bumper and comes integrated with the provisions of fog lamps.
The interiors of Swift 2018 are also expected to be more premium than the outgoing version and will get features like a flat bottom Steering wheel with multiple function controls, a new twin-pod instrument cluster, and a touchscreen infotainment system with automatic climate control on the top variant.
The new Swift is powered by the same engines as before; a 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine (83PS/113Nm) and a 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine (75PS/190Nm), both mated to 5-speed manual transmission. Both the petrol and diesel engines are now offered with AMT transmissions for added comfort in the city. Despite the output figures remaining the same, there is a big jump in the performance and fuel efficiency. The new Swift petrol has an ARAI-certified mileage of 22kmpl, while the Swift diesel returns a mind-boggling 28.4kmpl.

Maruti Swift 2018 Highlights
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of India’s most popular hatchback ever since it was launched in 2005. The new avatar of the Swift was revealed in 2011 and was recently face-lifted in 2014. The all-new Swift was first launched in Japan in January 2017 and will be finally launched in India in the first half of 2018. The new Swift looks like an evolution of the older car but is actually all new underneath. With the new model, the Swift is going back to its sportier roots and set itself apart from the more commuter-centric competition.
Maruti Swift 2018 Exterior and Interior
Though every panel on the Swift is new, it retains the silhouette of the older model. The design is more sporty, meaning there is none of the bling that is usually loved by Indian customers. While the Swift does get LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, these are limited only the top-of-the-line Z+ variants. The flared wheel arches, smooth curves, flat roof and a tight rear give the new Swift a retro-modern feel. 15-inch alloy wheels are available both on the Z and Z+ variants, with the Z+ getting the more sporty ‘precision-cut’ dual-tone units. Even with all these updates, the Swift retains an unoffensive design which is sure to make it more appealing to a wider set of people.
The Swift’s interior has received a proper upgrade as compared to older models. Gone is the ‘waterfall’ centre console and the angular AC vents, instead, the new Swift features a lot of circular elements. The centre AC vents are round, the AC controls are round dials (with attractive in-dial displays), the USB and 12V sockets have round surrounds, the dials on the instrument cluster are round – but the steering wheel is not. As with the previous car, the Swift gets an all-black interior with silver highlights. The space inside gas gone up even though the car is now 10mm shorter than before, thanks to a 20mm longer wheelbase and a 40mm increase in overall width. The seats are bigger and better cushioned, though the space at the rear has only marginally increased. Better sound insulation and vibration-reduction measures make the cabin a better place to be in.
Maruti Swift 2018 Specifications
Maruti Suzuki is offering the Swift with two engine options: a 1197cc, 4-cylinder petrol and a 1248cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel. Both the engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission as well as 5-speed AMTs (automated manual transmissions). The engines on the Swift are not the most powerful in their segment, but they are adequately peppy.
